At present, there are two models of serviced apartments. One is personal-owned serviced apartment buildings, which typically have 6–9 floors and are run by private owners. .Their price usually includes furniture, cleaning service, security, and a water tap (optional). It is designed for both short-term and long-term stays. Almost all of these buildings don’t have indoor swimming pools or gyms, and they don’t offer complementary breakfast, shuttle buses,... There is a wide range of prices for this model, from as low as $300 per month to $5,000 per month, depending on the location, quality, view, and size. These serviced apartments are concentrated densely in Tay Ho Westlake, expat areas, and also scattered all around center districts of Hanoi, including Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Cau Giay, Dong Da,…
Another model is luxuriously serviced apartment buildings. These ones are always operated by high-profile companies or corporations such as BRG, Ascott Limited, Lotte, Van Phu Invest, and concentrated mainly in Tay Ho, Hoan Kiem, or Ba Dinh. The outstanding points of this model are its luxury full-option utilities and services and high-quality infrastructure. Thus, their offer prices are really high. A 2 bedroom apartment in Somerset Westpoint can be listed at 2800 USD++ or Lottel 7 Residence Tay Ho at 3200 USD++. Their qualities are deserving of their prices, indeed. Their residents can be treated to a 5-star experience with state-of-the-art furniture and surroundings, spacious and high-class gym and outdoor pool, a complimentary daily buffet breakfast (optional), shuttle bus, daily cleaning services, laundry, … Up to now, this model is still favored by many white-collar professionals and high-ranking officers when coming to Hanoi for long-term residence.
Moreover, unserviced apartments (high rise condos) are often favored by those who prefer high-floor accommodations, independent living, a cost-effective option, and good utilities, including a gym, pool, and nearby minimart. Many prefer to stay on a higher floor than 10, so choosing high-rise condos seems to be a better option. Almost all high-rise condo projects can have 25th to 36th floors. Some residents choose them because they can go back home anytime without disturbing the security’s sleep, as at serviced apartments. And without services, their offer prices are also cheaper, with better size. A 3-bedroom apartment in Cau Giay at 110 sq m can be rented for 690 dollars per month, which cannot be found at serviced apartments’s. Because of high-class condos, usually the building has an indoor or outdoor pool, free gyms, or a charged gym, which is hardly found in private-owned serviced apartments.
