West Lake is not only a cultural and natural symbol of Hanoi but also an attractive tourist destination with various activities such as duck pedaling, stand-up paddleboarding, water park fun, exploring ancient villages, and discovering local cuisine. Located in the northwest of Hanoi, in Tay Ho district, West Lake is approximately 11 km away from the city center. It is the largest natural lake in Hanoi, covering an area of up to 500 hectares, with a circumference of about 20 km. Surrounding West Lake is a lush, green road, stretching for approximately 18 km. Formerly, this area was a part of the Red River, but after a change in the river's course, it became a large freshwater lake as it is today.
Situated in the northwest of Hanoi, in Tay Ho district, approximately 11 km from the city center, West Lake is surrounded by the scenic routes of Thanh Nien – Thuy Khue – Au Co – Nghi Tam – Lac Long Quan, creating a unique geographical location for this large body of water.
