Supporting foreigners during the Covid-19 epidemic

Supporting foreigners during the Covid-19 epidemic

The Covid-19 pandemic struck without warning, putting many individuals in danger, especially foreigners living and working in Vietnam. In addition to usual issues such as lost employment, reduced income, and a low quality of life, many of them lack family or close friends in Vietnam who can give timely support and assistance in times of need.

With the motto "no one is left behind," the Party, the State, and the Government work to ensure everyone's health and safety, without discriminating between local and international citizens. Vietnam has set rules and procedures to help foreign people in the country who are experiencing challenges as a result of the outbreak.

There are also numerous practical tasks available in the community to assist overseas friends. Many people recall the tale of a foreign teacher who lost his job, exhausted his life due to the Covid-19 outbreak, and held a sign pleading for aid at a crossroads in April 2020 in Ho Chi Minh City, hoping to receive support from the community. Many individuals rushed out to help him right away, even though they didn't know him, making him feel "overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the Vietnamese people."

The tiny anecdote demonstrates that the Vietnamese government and people are always interested in and willing to assist individuals who are experiencing challenges in life, regardless of who they are. Throughout the nearly two-year outbreak, foreigners living and working in Vietnam received frequent assistance and care from the whole population in many ways, including food, medicine, vaccination against Covid-19, medical attention, and so on.

Many international patients have been treated with enthusiasm by Vietnamese medical personnel, who have assisted them in overcoming death and returning to life. Typical of foreign friends, the saving of the life of a British man pilot who was gravely ill with Covid-19 in July 2020 was acknowledged and welcomed.

Many regions and localities around the country continued to pay close attention to foreigners during the fourth outbreak. The government has met, visited, and encouraged foreigners impacted by the pandemic who are residing in the city, delivering essentials and welfare gift packages, much as it did in Ho Chi Minh City. Priority is given to immunization against Covid-19, including financial incentives. Ho Chi Minh City also set up contact centers to receive information and help, including hotlines for five distinct foreign language groups, as well as a webpage https://bit.ly/SupportForeigner for foreigners who are having difficulty with translation. Covid-19 has the ability to actively register information in order to obtain assistance.

Many organizations and people in Hanoi have offered timely assistance to international students enrolled in Vietnamese institutions. The program "Sharing love with expatriates" was also implemented in Binh Thuan province, providing cash and essential goods to dozens of unemployed foreigners whose lives had been affected by the epidemic. Along with cooperating to examine and create a list of challenging instances, several communities also maintain Quick Response Teams to provide immediate assistance to foreigners in need.

This is a vivid example of the social system's compassionate character, the Vietnamese people's spirit of sharing and mutual affection, a great source of inspiration that contributes to the community's togetherness., please help us defeat the pandemic.
